I have completed another page!!! go me ....

this page is of B when he took the controls of a replica Boeing 737 simulator ....after some training on what all the controls did ...we were off (Miss T and I were passengers) B completed a perfect landing at Hong Kong airport ...he loved the experience a great Christmas gift.

I have done faux stitching as i couldn't be bothered changing my thread in my machine and my edge is done using the technique Ingvild Bolme taught in her class.

Celebrate Twelve

while looking at some of the blogs i follow this morning i came across a layout by Eve Dohn that inspired me straight away i just love how she distresses her edges using different punches.

So here is my layout using my favourite photo of Miss T at her 12th birthday lunch just after Christmas.
I started off by laying a paper doily on my core`dinations cream cardstock and sprayed it using Maya Road Pink Grapefruit mist, i have used Martha Stewart and Stampin` Up punches randomly around the edges and then distressed the edges using a distress tool. Then i embellished the page with Prima flowers, butterflies and, metal embellishments, a canvas heart (misted with pink grapefruit) and crocheted trim from Maya Road and my favourite seam binding ribbon.

I am so happy with how the page looks ...☺

New Year ....time for a clean up

As i do every January i spent today cleaning up in my craft room ....so here are the before and after 10 hours of cleaning photos ...now this is just around my desk that i create on ...i still have some more cleaning to do but at least i can now do some scrapping ....if you want a closer look just click on the photos ☺ I am going to try and not purchase any new products at all this year and to spend time creating instead....lets see if i can last 365 days without buying a thing.

here is a photo of my Secret Santa present i bought for Quenie at work ... she wasn't there to receive her present so i don't know what she thought of it

We had to spend $20 and buy something that started with the first letter of our name so that the person receiving the present had to guess who it was from

Inside the box was a Kewpie Doll Necklace and three badges one with a picture of Kermit, one with a picture of a kitten and one that said Kapow ...i forgot to take a photo of the pressies before i wrapped them all up but this is what the necklace looked like ...

Today Miss T and I went to see The Nutcracker performed by the Brisbane City Youth Ballet ....our friend Samara was one of the dancers and she danced so beautifully ...she has such a beautiful stage presence.

Here is a photo of Samara with Taylah after the performance. (this is one of the great things BCYB do is have all the dancers come out to the foyer in costume after the performance is over so you can get autographs and photos with the dancers.)

tonight i made some christmas bunting using paper doilies and the off pieces of my EK Christmas Tree punch

I love how it looks and so easy ...just fold doily in half and sew tree on and keep adding doilies and trees until you run out ...i wanted to add some ribbon but as it is just cotton thread holding it i don't think it would hold anymore weight.

This year i have made the same card but in two different colour ways ...firstly i made the yellow,grey and white cards as i love this colour combo ... but as I normally match my cards to my colour theme i made more cards this time in hot pink and black ...while it is a simple card design they were still very time consuming to make 50 cards....

while looking for something else I found this layout I did awhile ago ...

I have used a Maya Road Mask as a mask on the blue cardstock using Irridescent Mist I then cut it up embossed it and used as an embellishment on my page. I also grunged the edges using a distress tool.

Tonight we had Miss T's end of year concert for Ashfield Ballet School ....at the end of the concert they have their presentation for all of the girls and boys who did well throughout the year. Well this year Miss T received two trophies .... Honors with Distinction for Hip Hop and the other Honors Plus for Tap ...so a very proud moment for us all ....she is most happy with her stash ☺

Today we said goodbye to one of my favourite people ....my father in law Colin Gurney. While we are heartbroken to loose Colin we know it is for the best as his quality of life was nil since he suffered a major stroke in July. Colin will be forever in our hearts. We love and miss him.

Today I went to High Tea at Keri Craig Emporium with my friends ...it was lovely to play ladies and certainly a well needed distraction. Shame about the $65 car parking fee!

early this morning Wayne flew out to Sydney to go to the Australian Open to watch Tiger Woods play golf ...this was his 50th Birthday present from me ...so he also got to spend time with my niece Rebecca and for the first night Bec took him to her favourite rib restaurant.

Today i was to head home from Melbourne ...first up my flight was cancelled so i ws put on an exrlier flight so we had a rush to get me to the airport ...once there my flight was delayed as the flight coming in from Sydney was held up due to bad weather and that was the plane i was coming home on ...next thing we found out that Melbourne airport had been closed due to bad weather! So i had a nice relaxing time reading while waiting ...i mean who wants to take nay chances ...so finally some time after 9pm i boarded my plane for my very bumpy flight home some 2+ hours late and after 5+ hours sitting in the airport ☺

today i have two photos to share ...
I was lucky enought to do two classes on the Prima Roadshow
the first class was with the very lovely and very talented Sharon Laakkonen in which we made a gorgeous mini canvas heart album

the second class was the talented Ingvild Bolme where Ingvild showed us how amazing her tools were and all loads of techniques to produce the gorgeous layout.

Thanks so much to Heidi from Scrappy Hollow for having me as her guest and booking me into both classes

here we are at school again today .... it was great checking out our school and also catching up with some of our school friends that weren't at the Meet and Greet last night.

here is a bonus photo of me outside the toilets ...in yr 10 i was caught wagging school by the police and they bought me back to school in a police car, then i was yelled out by our Senior Mistress and then after seeing the school nurse as i cut my leg open when running from the police i got to scrub the toilet walls ...good times ☺ In my defence my Mum knew i wasn't going to school as it was the last day of term and we had just come back from school camp ...but the police and the snr mistress didn't care about my Mum knowing ....

Can you believe it DAY 300 ...who would of thought i could keep this up???

Today's photo is of poor Miss T's injuries ....Sunday she came off the bike and when i looked at her injuries i said it is just a few grazes ...well it would seem to be a bit worse that what they originally looked ...when she took her bandage off on Monday night they were all sticky yucky so we have now been lathering on the Rawleigh's Antiseptic Salve ...so this is what they look like after 4 days, still not very pretty but much better than on Monday ...oh and Cadbury jumped on her this morning with his "talon's" so a few more tears and screams ☺ We really must get his nails clipped!

Tonight we went to see Carl Barron at QPAC ...he was so funny we all loved him. This photo is walking back to the car through Southbank ....doesn't The Wheel of Brisbane look pretty at night especially with me in front of it ☺

If you get a chance to see Carl live do it as he is fantastic ☺
